Noel or alternatively noël is another word used within the English language for Christmas. The word noel comes from the French word Noël which means "Christmas". It derives from the Old French word noël, a variant of nael.
Christmas is a celebration observed on December 25th to commemorate the birth of Jesus, who is the central figure of Christianity. The 25th of December may not be the actual birth date of Jesus, but may have been selected to correspond with the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed that Jesus was concieved.
